In the BMBF research project “Internet of Construction”, the RWTH research institutes for Individualized Construction Production and the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering are developing integral solution approaches for collaboration along the value chain in the construction together with project partners from the construction industry, mechanical engineering and automation. Within this scope, cyber-physical systems in prefabrication and for the construction site are networked by an overarching IoC systematics. The aim is to optimize the efficiency and quality of future construction processes.
In October, the first construction measures took place at the Campus West reference site. Together with LEONHARD WEISS GmbH & Co. KG, the approaches of the IoC systematics for reinforced concrete processes were examined. With the Campus West reference construction site, the CCR offers a building site for the integration and validation of cyber-physical systems under real conditions and enables particularly application-oriented research and development.
This research and development project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) within the funding program „Innovationen für die Produktion, Dienstleistung und Arbeit von morgen” and implemented by the Project Management Agency Karlsruhe (PTKA).
