One-year anniversary of the Reference Construction Site

Teaching and Researching on Campus West

One year after the opening of the Reference Construction Site in February 2020, we would like to once again express our deepest gratitude to all our partners and colleagues for their continued collaboration, especially during these uniquely challenging times. We remember with pleasure the last physical meeting on Campus West in Aachen during the opening ceremony and the atmosphere captured there. The creative spirit for the development of future-oriented building processes now lives on in the projects on the Reference Construction Site. In this way, the vision of an interdisciplinary teaching and research environment for construction is finding its way step by step into built reality.

Networking for the future in construction

We are proud of all that we have accomplished together in this initial year. In addition to the expansion and development of the equipment on the reference construction site, we have started the first sovereign-funded projects of the RWTH and initiated industrial research projects of the Center Construction Robotics.
These exciting projects enable our industrial and educational partners to leverage the living construction laboratory that is the Reference Construction Site. This interdisciplinary network positively impacts existing processes while researching and developing technology for the construction site of the future.
