Tower Crane Transformed into Cutting-Edge 5G Antenna |
A significant milestone has been achieved by successfully transforming a tower crane into a cutting-edge 5G Antenna. This accomplishment propels the Reference Construction Site to new heights in accelerated networking within the 5G-Industry Campus Europe at Campus Melaten, RWTH Aachen University. Under the framework of the 5GNamico research initiative, we are exploring the transformative potential of 5G mobile communication in construction site networking. This tailored solution caters to the unique needs of specialized application areas such as robotics, production processes, and industrial automation. We are excited to announce that we are now prepared to leverage our very own 5G network on-site, opening doors for further research and projects. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our project partners, Ericsson, Kabelwerk EUPEN AG, and Fraunhofer-Institut für Produktionstechnologie IPT, for their exceptional collaboration in making this setup a reality.
